Vedere ammiccare Phil K. Dick attraverso lo schermo è una delle cose che mi spolverano meglio i neuroni. Con questo improbabile film mi è capitato. Non so da dove spunti fuori ma ha quel non so che di borderline che non è riconducibile solo all’essere un b-movie. Molti direbbero che quel non so che è semplicemente che è fatto male. Anzi, molti lo dicono proprio:
- A mess of a movie plagued by leaden performances and a rambling plot.
- Boring, pretentious, underacted, and lowly funded, this sci-fi failure is a spectacle of too many ideas without proper execution.
- Pointlessly stilted and frustratingly obvious.
- Not every shoestring indie needs to be energetic and edgy, but it could’ve really helped in this case
- An interminable movie experience.
- Pretty badly muddled film that tries too hard to say something meaningful.
- I love some of Hal Hartley’s earlier work, but this movie is a complete disaster.
- Hartley’s ugly-looking, poorly shot, clunky attempt to do a thinking man’s sci-fi movie. Occasionally an interesting idea emerges, only to be swallowed by some worthless narration.
- meh. pft. bah. *yawn*. anything else? oh yes: where the hell is hal hartley?
Ma i “je ne sais quoi”, come si esprime Hume quando parla di cose serie, in genere indicano qualcosa di prezioso.
